At the Park

My mama found a really nice hiking trail last week on the Internet, so on Thursday we decided to go and try it out. We love to hike! It was a lot of fun, although we were a little tired when we left. I had mama's camera, so here are some of the pictures I took. I'm very happy with the way they tuned out.

Starting out. Natalie put her bonnet on herself, and since it was staying, we left it that way. :-)

Look at this big magnolia!

No horse left behind. :-)

Come on!

The entrance to the wood.

Here I go! This is fun!

What is that at the top of the tree? I need to check it out......

Wait for me!

I said wait!

They eventually got off the first tree, but that didn't stop them from exploring the second......

Here I go.....This log is slippery......(and, like a good photographer, I was unable to catch the fall:-))

Of course I'm enjoying myself. I get to ride.:-)

Finally on our way again.

The woods.

Yet another fallen tree. (To be honest, if I wasn't the one behind the camera, I would have climbed a few trees myself.:-)

A lake.

Who's that way over there?

Mama: "It looks like Bekah and Emily to me"

Sara: Aaaaggghhhhh! We must leave immediately! There are millions and millions of baby frogs!"

(and there were! I was in complete favor of vacating the premises at one, but the majority ruled.)

Are you sure it's not safe to go wading?

Rebekah and Emily saw what look like a long line stuck in the water. So, naturally, they pulled it out.

It looks like a fish!

I know! Let's do some fishing!

Is the stick tied well. (at first I thought, in absence of bait, they would try to knock the fish out, but I later learned that they were simply interested in making big splashes.:-))

Here it goes!

I'm throwing mine!

Look at that!

Back up the hill.....

We stopped at a picnic place to eat lunch.

Natalie didn't like her ham sandwich.

Mama.

Part of the Lake.

Rebekah and Emily went down to explore in the grass around the water. They thought they saw a snake and came back on the run.

I took this picture of a tree covered in Moss.

The bamboo forest.

To climb, or not to climb? That is the question.

The path out.

I actually took about 100+ pictures, but these are the ones I liked best. Dad came home this weekend, from Dothan, so on Saturday we went hiking again. Those pictures are still in the camera, but I'll try to post them when we get back,

We are going to Albany for about a week to help my Grandfather around his house, He's trying to sell it, but it needs a little yard work.

In other news, my friend Sarah and I are setting up a sewing blog! She loves to sew as much as I do, so this will be fun! Stay tuned!

By the way, Sarah also did the Feelin Feminine Challenge. You can see her pictures by going here and here. She also made most of her skirts and dresses, and they are very nice!
I'm also starting a monthly reading list on my sidebar. At the beginning of every month I'll start a new list, and at the end of the month I'll do a summary or review for each one. I'll have mine up in a few days.

Have a blessed week!

Quick update.....

Well, Dad left for Al. yesterday afternoon. We already miss him.

Before he left we decided to take a quick trip up to Charleston, SC. We had a lot of fun! Since my lovely mama has already posted about our trip, I'll just give you two of my favorite pictures.

The cupcake shop. :-) My dad, Natalie and I are the only ones who can eat cupcakes, so we enjoyed ourselves. :-D Okay, okay, I'll be honest. :-( I was Happy. ;-) Dad hated the cupcakes, and we didn't want to give Natalie all that sugar. hehehe......

My Dad, (who's photographic skills you've already seen exhibited) took this picture. :-) As you can see, only 2 people can follow instructions, and one of them wasn't me. He did get a good picture, though. (after a couple tries:-))

We are currently getting used to not having Dad around. :-( It'll take awhile....

Oh! For all my non-blogging friends! I have enabled my blog to accept anonymous comments! So now y'all can leave comments! I'd like for everyone who reads my blog to please leave a comment and let me know what you think of it.:-)

And......my sewing machine is back from the shop, so I can get to work! Stay tuned, I hope to have something up in a week or so!

Home Again!

Well, we are back in town! To stay, this time. My dad is leaving next week for Dothan, but we get to stay here 'till the house sells. I did get to see my friend Sarah while we were there, too. :-) No pictures, we were too busy talking.:-D

Lemme see....

So far nothing interesting has been going on. :-) We have been cleaning the house mostly today, as some realtors will be coming tomorrow. Actually, we were told they would be having a "drive-buy" but for some reason I don't like the way that sounds.....:-)

My beloved sewing machine, which has broken since Christmas, went to the shop this week. I am hoping that they can fix it soon and I can get on with all of those sewing projects that I so desperately want to get done this summer. :-)

Oh! Here is a really neat website to check out. It's called Heumoore productions, and it's 2 homeschoolers (;-)) who make movies. Three of their films have won awards at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. We've got two, Bubble Trouble and Heartstrings. Please be sure to check it out!

Well, I have no more to say, at present.....

Attitude

Here is a little something from an E-mail my Mama forwarded to me.

Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,

looked in the mirror,

and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.

'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'

So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror

and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

'H-M-M,' she said, 'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'

So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.

'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail.'

So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,

looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

'YAY!' she exclaimed. 'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything

So true! Our outlook on life can mean a lot! :-)

Feelin' Feminine Week- Summary

We are finally back in town! lol. Oh, and did I mention we are going back out of town THIS weekend as well? I love to travel but these trips are for house hunting in Alabama where we are moving, so they don't really qualify as "travel". :-)

Hey Sarah, maybe I'll get to see you again this weekend!!!! :-)

So, here is my summary of the Feelin' Feminine Week. I know, I know, I should have had this up a week ago. I'm sorry, but "busy" is a word I'm getting pretty tired of hearing. :-)

I was dresses only for about 8 years of my life, so wearing skirts is nothing new to me. :-) I did the Feeling Feminine Challenge really just for fun, but also as a reminder that I don't have to reach for my jeans every morning. :-) I believe that jeans and skirts can both be equally modest, as well as immodest.
I enjoyed the Feelin' Feminine Challenge and would do it again!

Okay, this is kind of short, but it's also kind of late. :-)

Bye for now.
