2008 Pure Fashion Show!!!!!

So.....here are the pictures from the Fashion Show, just like I promised! All picture credits go to my dad. I was too busy looking at everything to even think about cameras. :-) You are all very fortunate, because he took pictures of every outfit on the runway. To any interested, all the outfits came from Dillard's. So.....here we go!

Shopping

Me looking at some bags

Dad caught me looking at this purse. It had about 7 different types of artificial animal fur all over it. The picture doesn't even do it justice. Not my style, I wouldn't even look at it. :-)

The Show

First up was a talk by co-host Julie Laipply on being beYOUtiful. She was extremely interesting.

There was a young lady named Heather Holtry from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She has Lyme Disease, and her wish was to have original modest prom dresses that she had designed made and modeled at a Pure Fashion Show. She did such an awesome job.

Here are two more gowns. Heather is the girl on the right. My favorite dress is the one on the girl on the left.

In honor of Heather Holtry, who loves ballet, Pure Fashion had Mary Kate McCarthy, from the Atlanta Ballet, dance at the show.

After Music performances from Lindee Link, a 13 year old singer, (by the way, she did a great job) and Carried Away (loved them too) one of the models came out and spoke to the audience about her experience with Pure Fashion and how it helped her learn that modesty isn't about wearing just an old sack, but looking feminine and attractive as well. She was very interesting,

And finally...... the fashion show itself!

Division #1 :

definitely a favorite

The next speakers were 2 models who had been friends for several years and did pure fashion together. They talked about how Pure Fashion really impacted their friendship and equipped them to truly challenge one another in their walk with Christ.

I love this! I am going to Dillard's next week! lol..........

Thought this was really cute.....

I really, really liked this

Another favorite

and another

Every year, each of the models are asked to design an original prom gown. Then they have a contest to see which gown wins, and the winning dress is made and modeled in the next fashion show.

Stunning!

I thought this was too cute!

The Last speaker. I can't for the life of me remember her talk. :-(

All in all, it was a very fun trip! I want to go again!

  • Dear Sara,
What a beautiful blog you have and what a beautiful young teen you are. I am glad you were at the Pure Fashion show. Thank you for posting your photos. You are quite the journalist!!

Heather is my daughter. She was honored to be there with you and all of the lovely guests and the Pure Fashion team this year.

Four of Heather's gowns will be auctioned on Ebay in the next couple of weeks. If you want to see what's happening you can check out www.freewebs.com/heathersmakeawish/She also has facebook. You may connect with her that way, as well. The proceeds from the 4 gowns (not to include the one that was your favorite.. :( (sorry)
    will benefit Lyme disease research!

By the way, I found you by accident. I was searching for an article that someone had referred me to and your blog popped up!

I'm glad it did! I will save it and show Heth over the next week as she comes through catching up on her online college courses and some of the needs for the auction and as her brain will permit.

God bless you Sara..and He will!
    Ivanhoe to you!

  • Mrs. Holtry,

I'm sorry I have taken so long to reply to your comment.
I really enjoyed getting to see Heather's gowns at the Pure Fashion Show. I like to do fashion design as a hobby, so getting to see Heather's designs brought to life was really inspiring. I hope all goes well with the ebay sale. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers.

    Ivanhoe to you! :-)

  • Mr. Link,

It was really nice to hear your daughter sing at the Fashion Show! She has an awesome voice!I think it's wonderful that Lindee is choosing to glorify God with her voice, and I pray that He will bless both her and your family as y'all pursue this path.

BTW, is it okay if I post Lindee's You Tube video on my blog?
